life lately

Good morning! It's safe to say summer has passed and autumn is in full swing. Life has been different, and busy, and extremely pleasant.

Wednesday I ended up seeing Justin. I was having an off day, and seeing him made me feel a whole lot better. He took me to his favourite sushi place and actually made me try sashimi (yeah, no.) It's funny, he is so familiar with Asian style foods, and I haven't a clue. In the middle of dinner he just looks at me and goes "I'm nervous" and I said "why" and he said "You're just making me nervous. Looking at you right now is making me nervous. It's a good thing." I actually love that he is able to tell me exactly what he's thinking. There's no guessing. After sushi, we went to Starbucks for some tea and then decided to walk the Quay. I showed him my favourite condo, and then we just sat and talked and looked at the water.

Yesterday was the 'surprise' date. He gave me a list of activities and literally all of them sounded fun so I asked him to pick. He picked me up and we went to Nuba for dinner (I honestly have no idea why it took me all these years before I tried Nuba. It's Lebanese food and delicious!) We shared mjadra, le petit feast, chicken shish tawook and fattoush salad. He had a pumpkin ale, and I had a pumpkin bourbon horchata. We both agreed the lentils were the best part of the entire meal and for a good 5 minutes, Justin didn't even talk because he was in the lentil zone. After dinner, we went to a magic show! It was put on by Fringe Fest and was so incredibly fun. It was a different sort of a magician. He had great stage presence, and a lovely amount of charisma and charm. All the tricks were unique, and all had to do with the number 68. After that, we went to Waves for chai tea and just talked.

We have been telling each other 10 things we appreciate/like about each other everyday. Neither of us heard things like that with our past relationships, and even though we aren't really anything other than a guy and a girl casually seeing each other, it's nice to hear things like that. He notices things about me I've never noticed. One of the things he wrote was he liked kissing my freckle on my upper stomach (I've never really noticed / paid attention to that freckle.) Today's favourite thing he said about me was he likes the fact I always ask for one more kiss. Swoon.
