Hey-o. I'm not a Green day fan. Well, not a *new* Green Day fan (Dookie is still awesome). I'm just kind of ready for September to be over. It was kind of a blah month; October is so much better.
October is two concerts, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and *hopefully* the Breakfast party (we suck at planning, obviously.) Matt and I are going to Seattle for the weekend on the 18th. He originally asked me if I wanted to see Colin Meloy in January in Seattle, but it's on a Wednesday. So, he's currently planning our bus/airbnb crap. I'm craving a weekend away, and what a better weekend getaway date than my non-boyfriend-boyfriend.
Yesterday I had a really, really good walk with Kyle. We set the pace quickly right away and kept up with that until I started yawning. Though I slept good the other night, I woke up with a splitting headache. Two back to back giant mugs of coffee couldn't even cure it. We're meeting again tonight and hopefully we'll give'r even harder. As much as I'd like to run, part of why I love walking with Kyle is talking to him. We are actually the exact opposite. I think we counted and we have only like 18 things in common, and 15 of those things are food/beer related. Also, apparently it's shocking when you don't like Led Zeppelin (Kyle almost made me walk home when I said LZ was incredibly over rated.)
Thursday I have a SURPRISE date with Justin (I'm just going to drop the JB crap, he's a good guy and you will all eventually probably hear me yabbering about him. Is yabbering a word?) I say surprise because he asked me if I like surprises, and I do. He's planning something fun. I don't doubt that it will be fun since he's fun! I'm not easily surprised because I normally kind of accidentally figure things out. Really, the only time I was surprised was the time Gord planned out this elaborate scavenger hunt for me and it was all to find the pair of skiis he bought me just because.
Friday I told Sabine I wanted to wine her and dine her. Our 15 year anniversary just passed. Can you believe that? We've been best friends since we were 10. I think that's pretty incredible we still love each other, get along and have things in common. Nowadays, most of my friendships are created on Twitter because it's easier to find people you have common interests with. With that said, thinking about it I think I maybe talk to only 10 people I went to high school with. Two of those people (Matt and Kevin) I didn't develop a relationship with until after we graduated. Weird how that works. Anyways, back to the Sabine and me date...I was going to take her for dinner and then she discovered at The Rio the creator of Breaking Bad will be showing his favourite episode and doing a live Q&A. She asked if I was interested in going to that instead. Uh, yes.
Saturday Kyle is being the biggest sweetheart ever by taking me to get stabbed by needles in exchange for some beautiful permanent art. My appointment is at 11:30 so I plan on waking up early and taking a bunch of advil because the back of my thigh is going.to.fucking.hurt.so.bad. After that, Kevin planned for the gang to get together and go for some beer flights. I imagine my flights will turn to pints because I'm going to be drinking away the pain of my thigh.
Sunday is nothing. I don't want anyone to ask me to do anything. I want to be lazy in my pjs all day and watching Breaking Bad, maybe 16 Candles, eat some poached eggs and hang out with my cats. Fingers crossed that happens.
Also, song of the moment
Young Fathers - Typhoon.
