friends, knights and bacon

I can't say it enough, but I honestly really love my life.

Friday Sabine and I were suppose to do that Breaking Bad thing but decided against it for two reasons:

1. We figured there would be way too many spoilers for me

2. It was sold out (ha!)

Instead, she came over, we drank some beer in my bed, snuggled and watched Breaking Bad on Netflix. By the time 10:30 rolled around both of our eyelids were growing heavy and we called it a night.

Saturday I had my appointment with Birdie. It was actually suppose to be a 3.5 hour appointment, and I had only brought enough money to cover that time but she said to not worry about it and that she wanted to finish it if I was able to sit. I sat for 6.5 hours. The longest I've sat previously was 3.5, so I almost doubled my time. When we hit the 5 hour mark, and she was colouring the leaves, I started really complaining. I sounded like a trucker swearing at her. After she put some bactine on it, I was good to go for the final hour and a half.

I have another appointment with her November 16th for something else. Kira said she would come and hang out with me, so here's hoping she gets a last minute something so we can have a (what she calls) a "brotat". Heading home, I ended up getting on the wrong bus  heading in the complete wrong direction. I text Justin asking where to go, and he instructed me to get off the bus and that he was on his way. Seriously. This guy. He picked me up, had Father John Misty playing in the car and bought me medical tape since my bandage on my leg was falling off. 

After Justin dropped me off at skytrain, I headed downtown to meet up with Matt, Kevin, Sabine and Andrew. We went to Save on Meats popup location for dinner (I had a bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickle and potato chip sandwich on marble rye...it was amazing) and then went to Bitter for beer. We all shot the shit, and discussed Sabine and Andrew's going away party *sob*. After Matt and I  bid thee farewell, we went back to his place to do the hop off. We compared the ever famous Driftwood Wet Hops Sartori to Hoyne's Wolf Vine Pale Ale. I really wished we started with Hoyne because it was absolutely terrible. Neither of us could finish it. It tasted flat, boring and watery. Sartori is everything everyone made it out to be. Honestly, I just absolutely love IPAS. We drank some other beer that had tequila, avocado leaf, chocolate, spice and other random flavour notes. I smelt it and wanted to vomit. All I could smell was tequila and my stomach just turned. I had one sip, gave it a 2 on Untappd and called it a night.

When we woke up, we went to The Wallflower for brunch. We were originally planning on going to Yolks but they were parked in Kits for the day. Matt picked Wallflower based on the fact he knew I would get the breakfast poutine (and I did). He got the bacon jalapeno benny. Our only complaint was that the eggs were poached hard rather than medium. We talked a bit about our game plan for the Breakfast for Dinner party next Saturday and made a shopping list. I honestly think that party idea is the best idea I've ever had. We're going to bake a bunch of bacon, make poached eggs, toast, hashbrowns, pancakes, spanish coffee, caesars, etc. I actually can't wait to go shopping Saturday afternoon!

Matt's having a Halloween party on the 26th, and we are also going to be doing a pumpkin beer tasting. The photo above is all the beers he has bought so far. There are about 4 missing, and when we go to Seattle in a few weeks he's going to see about hunting some more down. I really love having a Beer nerd as best friend. I can always count on him for giving me a detailed description before I buy something. We're going to the pumpkin patch on the weekend of Thanksgiving...might be cool to do beer in a pumpkin for that!

I headed home just before noon, did a few chores and have basically been lazy every since. I watched two episodes of Breaking Bad before my Netflix crapped out. I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!
