I've been going to bed fairly early every night since I've been home. To top it off, I'm trying to battle a nasty cold. I've been waking up before 5:00 which I'm surprisingly okay with. I've been able to make an actual breakfast, catch up on important things like the food network and Pinterest.
The weather hasn't been exactly ideal. It's been muggy and drizzling pretty much everyday since I've been home. The dark clouds and cool mornings have me craving autumn. I started tweeting about pumpkin spice yesterday and had a whole mix of responses. Apparently in some people's minds, talking about pumpkin spice before September 1st is a huge no no.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love summer. I love that I can just throw on a dress and a pair of sandals and be done. I love that it's light out until 10:00 and that certain songs are more meaningful when the sun is shining on your back.
Autumn is my favourite. I love the clothes, the food and the weather. I love the red/orange hue everything becomes before it turns to winter.
I feel more like a homebody during fall and completely enjoy that. The food has more spice and something as simple as lentil soup makes you feel like you're getting a hug inside out.
Last year, one of my favourite autumn activities was walking the track at Bear Creek park on a fairly regular basis. I'm hoping to start that up (mental note to ask Kyle).
I'm staring outside my living room window. The sky is a light grey and hanging low. It's raining, but that just means I get to throw on my Hunters.
What's your favourite part about autumn?
