lake!

This weekend was a lot of fun. Lindsay was an exceptional host and did a really great job of showing me around the area. You can tell her family is extremely proud of the cabin solely by how she talks about it.

I was going to write one post about everything that happened this weekend, but there were several blah things that happened, and I want to keep this post happy :)

Lindsay's cabin is on Pressey Lake which is just outside of 70 mile house. Our weekend consisted of a lot of drinking, smoking, reading and basking in the sun.

We watched one of the most amazing storms I have ever seen in my entire life. It was incredibly dark and then giant flashes of lightening hit. I went inside to read, and Linds went to go talk to the neighbours. 10 minutes later, there was this flash rain storm that just pelted against the tin roof. There are fewer things that sound as lovely as that.

Sunday night I crawled into bed and was getting lost in Insurgent. After a good 40 minutes of reading, and heavy eyelids, I put the book down. I forgot how it's next to impossible to try and sleep after the adrenaline of that series. I ended up waking up in the middle of the night after what I assume was a spider bite, but thinking someone injected me with a tracking serum. Is it October yet? I want to read the final book.

Highlights:
bacon caesars
lime quinoa
pineapple express beer (by Whistler brewing)
Pretty Woman
the fact Linds brought pumpkin spice to put in our coffee (eee!)
hearing the loons talk to each other
beautiful canyon drive

Just outside of Spences Bridge.

We had reception in the bathroom, so we're both sitting on the toilet.

Romantic paddle boatin'. I had a caesar, she had scotch.

The calm before the storm (literally). An hour after this photo was taken, thunder struck.

Extra spicy, extra beans, extra celery, extra bacon.
